The Bohemian Project

Moulin Rouge! The Musical aims to give back to the community and share the Bohemian Values espoused in the story by supporting emerging artists and creatives through arts education and workforce training and development. Moulin Rouge! The Musical honours the artist in all of us by celebrating creative expression across multiple disciplines.
By developing initiatives or partnering with charity organisations, we support the freedom for everyone to pursue their dreams to create a meaningful life for themselves and others.

Ever wondered what it takes to bring the Spectacular, Spectacular to life?
Get Technical! invites you behind the curtain for a glimpse into what goes on backstage, offering the chance to hear from the technical teams, watch live on-stage demonstrations and learn more about what goes into the making of the show.
Originally conceptualised by General Manager Dawn Martin during the 2021–2024 Australian Tour, this event quickly became a hit, engaging over 4,000 attendees nationwide and earning accolades at the 2023 Australian Event Awards for Best New Event (National) and Best Cultural, Arts or Music Event (QLD). Since then, it has expanded internationally with successful events in London, Cologne, Birmingham, and Manchester, with more on the horizon.
From wigs to wardrobe, sound to stage management, the event aims to motivate and inspire young people to consider a career in backstage positions in the performing arts industry. Attendees are shown how the different technical departments work together to create the production and be given a sneak peek of some of the stage secrets and magic behind the show.
Backstage and technical team members also share stories from their own career journeys and give tips for getting into the industry. Whether you’re a theatre enthusiast, interested in pursuing a career backstage, or simply curious about what goes on behind the scenes, this is your chance to experience the world of production like never before.
